Today I’d like to share my top 5 free and paid ASHA resources:
#1: The Private Practice section of the ASHA Website
ASHA has a GREAT private practice resources page with links to helpful information, resources and documents on topics like:
Visit the ASHA Private Practice page here: https://www.asha.org/slp/ppresources/ |
#2: Private Practice-Related Articles in the ASHA Leader
In every issue of the ASHA Leader, there are 1-2 articles that directly relate to private practice. For example, the short, sweet and helpful articles cover things like: billing Medicare, understanding the differences between independent contractors and employees and if you look back to the August 2017 issue you’ll find an article I wrote about developing word of mouth marketing.
#3. ASHA Connect and ASHA Private Practice Online Conference
In addition to the big ASHA Convention in November, ASHA offers a smaller conference called ASHA Connect in July. A few years ago they combined the Schools conference with the Healthcare and Private Practice conference to make a small but mighty mid-year experience.
I was an invited speaker in 2017. They flew me down, put me up and I spoke to a large room of private practitioners about how to successfully develop multi-tired marketing system for your private practice. It was so much fun! |
#4: ASHA ProFind
Did you know that ASHA offers a free directory of their members for the public to search and find? It’s called ASHA ProFind and you should get yourself listed in it ASAP. Lots of people get clients this way. It's free with your ASHA membership and only takes a few minutes to set up - so be sure to take advantage of this free marketing opportunity!
#5: ASHA Private Practice Essentials
ASHA has a book called Private Practice Essentials which covers the in the in’s and outs of private practice. Honestly, it’s best to arm yourself with as much information as possible so I highly recommend picking up this book in addition to investing in my courses to make sure you get access to ALL of the info you need to be successful.
My products (The Start Your Private Practice System and Grow Your Private Practice) come with built in, ongoing support and accountability which really help people feel supported as they go thru the process.
ASHAs book is more DIY or Do It Yourself vs. my resources which are DIS or Done With Support.
I hope you found this list of resources helpful!
